What is the Fare Car?
Fare Car provides a range of journey opportunities from the areas shown on the timetable link at the bottom of this page to and from designated points in Modbury, Ivybridge, including Ivybridge Station, and Lee Mill Tesco.
Like a bus service, Fare Car has fixed arrival and departure times and points. Unlike a bus, Fare Car only runs if there are passengers who have arranged a journey in advance.

Fare Car is operated by Ivy Cabs by formal agreement with Devon County
Council. This is a public transport scheme financially supported by Devon
County Council, offering an innovative public transport to rural areas.

Whats so great about Fare Car?
Several journey choices, Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays)
Access to shops, work, education, leisure facilities and doctors
A service run by Private Hire cars at special fares with helpful and friendly licensed drivers
Opportunities to use bus and rail services.

Where can I go and what will I pay?
Starting from any point in the rural area of Zone 1 (see timetable) to and from designated points in Modbury and Ivybridge (and Lee Mill Tesco)
Starting from any point in the rural area of Zone 2 (see map) to and from designated points in Ivybridge (and Lee Mill Tesco)
From the designated point in Modbury to/from the designated points in Ivybridge (and Lee Mill Tesco)

Fare Car will do its best to reach any address in the rural area but some points may not be accessible by the vehicle.

The cars are not obliged to leave the public highway.

2.00 or 2.50 per single journey. This is a subsidised fare.

There are no further reductions for pensioners including National Bus Pass holders,
children or other categories, except children under 5 who travel free.

We cover the following areas:

From Bigbury, Bigbury-on-Sea, Challaborough, Ermington, Kingston, Ludbrook, Modbury, Ringmore, St Anns Chapel and Ugborough.
Regular journey choices to Ivybridge and Modbury town centres,
Ivybridge Station and Lee Mill Tesco.
